I might be the last one to hear about the Google Chrome “Pin Tab” feature but it liked it so much I thought I’d share it with you.

What pin tab does is that it minimizes the tab so that only the favicon is shown. An excellent way to keep those tabs you always keep open from taking up important tab bar space.

All you need to do is to right click on the tab and select “Pin tab”. One might want to have a Chrome feature where the pinned tabs always were available at start up but so far I haven’t found one. However, if you use the preference to reopen tabs that were used when closed you will at least get the pinned ones pinned.

Those old posts

Since I mentioned that this feature has been around a while I’d like to give some cred to the peeps who have written about this before:
Google Chrome Releases (probably #first)

There is also a discussion regarding pin tab keyboard short cut at the Google support forum.
